Rural Architecture

Rural Illinois is full of abandoned houses, barns, silos and outbuildings.  It seems that the IRS, in all its wisdom, taxes people for improvements (read:  taking care of and preserving American rural history and architecture.   So not only do I love looking at these places, but I feel a personal responsibility for recording their existence.  Many farmers burn down these buildings regularly.  I cannot understand why they don't at least sell the materials.  But.....
