Birds
One of my favorite subjects to watch and photograph is the world of birds. I've probably got more images of birds than any other thing. I grew up in the Texas Panhandle where there is no water, no trees, and thus, few birds. When I moved to rural Illinois in 2006, little did I know that I was gaining an entire world. I'd never even seen most of the birds who became my daily companions, birds who might not even show up at my feeders until I came outside. It felt as if they wanted company. I also have taken lots of photographs of "wild" non fed birds, raptors of all kinds, vultures, American Eagles, kestrels, American Pelicans migrating through each year, and my Illinois totem - the Great Blue Heron.
